Galito’s Holdings (Pty) Ltd (“Galito’s”) is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you a safe online experience. This Statement of Policy applies to the Galito’s Websites (‘the Websites’) namely www.galitos.com, www.galitos.co.za and www.app.galitos.co.za and governs data collection and usage. By using the ‘Websites’, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

You acknowledge that by using the ‘Websites’ and by trading with Galito’s you will be providing Galito’s with personal data which may be protected by data protection legislation, including, inter alia, the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPI). You hereby authorise us to process all such personal data for the purposes of performing the business of Galito’s legitimate business interests including statistical analysis, marketing of our services/product and credit control. You further authorise Galito’s to furnish information which may be protected by data protection legislation, including inter alia, POPI, regarding your property registration and Galito’s trading history to any person we reasonably determine to be seeking a credit reference for any lawful purpose.
2. COLLECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Galito’s collects personally identifiable information, such as your email address, home or work address/or telephone numbers, Galito’s also collects anonymous demographic information which is not necessarily unique to you, such as your postal code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favourites.
Galito’s encourages you to review the privacy statements of Websites you choose to link with so that you can understand how these Websites collect, use and share your information. Galito’s is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on Websites outside of the Galito’s ‘Websites’.
3. USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Galito’s collects and uses your personal information to operate the Galito’s ‘Websites’ and deliver the services/products you have requested or are interested in. Galito’s also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from Galito’s. Galito’s may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of our current services/product or of potential new services/products that may be offered by Galito’s in due course.

Galito’s keeps track of our ‘Websites’ and various digital pages through our customers’ visits to and within Galito’s, in order to determine what Galito’s services/products are the most popular. Galito’s secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclose. When personal information is transmitted to other ‘Websites’, it is protected through the use on encryption.
We recognise that information security is an integral element of data privacy. Galito’s implements a range of commercially reasonable physical, technical, and procedural measures to help protect personal information from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction in accordance with data protection law requirements. Galito’s is committed to ensuring that information is only used for legitimate purposes.

Galito’s will occasionally update this Statement of Policy to reflect company and customer feedback. Galito’s encourages you to periodically review this Statement of Policy to be informed of how Galito’s is protecting your information.
We may review and change our Statement of Policy from time to time in order to update our privacy commitment to you in keeping with current privacy laws.
7. ACCURACY OF INFORMATION
We are responsible for ensuring that customer information is complete, up to date and accurate before it is used. This means that it may be necessary to request that customers, from time to time, update their information and confirm that it is still accurate. If we are unable to reach a customer for this purpose, their information will be deleted from our records in accordance with the storage periods governed by Law.

We recognise and value the trust that Galito’s customers place in us when providing us with personal information and we are committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of personal information in order to ensure compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 as amended from time to time. The Information Officer is responsible for administering and overseeing the implementation of this Statement of Policy and, as applicable, supporting guidelines, standard operating procedures, notices, consents and appropriate related documents and processes. All employees, and individuals directly associated with Galito’s are trained, according to their functions, in the regulatory requirements, policies and guidelines that govern the protection of personal information.

If you believe that Galito’s has not adhered to this Statement, please refer you query to dasyam@galitos.com who will revert to our Information Officer. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to promptly determine and remedy the problem.
